National Radiation Sensors produced by Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University Nuclear Radiation Detector Application and Research Center (NURDAM) were converted into radiation detectors to be used in satellites, in cooperation with TUBITAK Space, and started to be used in domestic satellites.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank made a statement to Anadolu Agency on the subject. Noting that the detector will detect the radiation falling on the satellites orbiting in orbit, Minister Varank said, "The radiation coming on the electronic circuits will be measured and the radiation map of the orbit will be drawn, and according to the amount of radiation dose, the electronic circuits of the satellites that will be launched into space will be produced in a way that is resistant to this dose." said.

Stating that the sensors in question were converted into detectors in cooperation with TÜBİTAK Space, Varank said, “The detectors successfully passed the pre-flight tests. Now, these detectors are integrated into our national and domestic satellites Türksat 6A and İMECE, whose design and production phases continue, as well as the Small Student Satellite-2B (SSS-2B) satellites produced by TÜBİTAK Space for the Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) within the framework of international agreements. will be done.” he said.
